Rapier Schedule

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • The Reduced Armor Experiment is NOT in effect. Please armor to normal standards.

  • We have approval from the Northshield KRM for MK combatants with proper authorization to use rapier spears.

  • A separate list area will be available all day for pickups, C&T, etc. BYO Marshal.

 

9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Site opens to populace; list opens for inspections, authorizations, warm-ups/pickups
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Comrade in Arms Tournament

  • Each team will consist of two fighters from different kingdoms.

  • Challenge other two-person teams for individual bouts:

         MK Fighter from Team 1 vs NS Fighter from Team 2
         NS Fighter from Team 1 vs MK Fighter from Team 2

  • One point per win, three points if both team members win.

  • One pass per bout, double kills to be re-fought once (second double kill = no win for that bout)

  • Fencers may fight Cut-and-Thrust if both fencers consent and are adequately armored; two-handed weapons (including experimental polearms) are allowed if both fencers consent and have rigid gauntlets

  • Total points per team per challenge to be reported to the list.

 

11:00 AM – 12 Noon: Reverse Bearpit Tourney

  • Winning fighter reports to the list table, then goes to the end of the line. Losing fighter stays in to a
    maximum of five consecutive losses, and then goes to the end of the line.

  • Each bout is best 2 of 3. Weapons styles are combatants’ choice. Fencers may fight Cut-and-Thrust if both
    fencers consent and are adequately armored; two-handed C&T weapons are allowed if both fencers consent and have rigid gauntlets.

  • Double kills will be refought once; on the second double kill, both combatants leave the list without
    reporting to the list table and a new pair will take their place.


    12 Noon – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break / Field Setup for Melee 1


1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Melee 1 - Raid on the Cheesewall

Who doesn’t find cheese gouda enough to steal? You cheddar defend your golden riches! You american’t let them take it. You and your team will have a brie-f 20 minutes to limburgal your opponent’s cheese while defending your own munster.

  •  Three 20-minute resurrection battles with 10-minute reset between

  • Cheese (large foam cushion with rope handles) may only be moved when TWO viable fighters are touching it

  • If you are attacked while carrying it, you may defend yourself while either moving or stationary

  •  If you are killed while carrying the cheese, you must drop it and another fighter must pick it up to move it again

  • The cheeses may NOT be used as a parrying device

  • Cheeses can be moved by any team

Death from behind and knee walking are active
 

Victory Conditions

1. Team is in possession of both cheeses at their own drop point; or

2. Team is in possession of one cheese with most fighters standing when time is called

 

2:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Field Reset for Melee 2
 

3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Melee 2 – The Siege of Padua
The Venetian army has taken back the city of Padua, but must defend it against the oncoming onslaught of the
landsknecht armies. Meanwhile, the landsknechts have to hurry up and break through the walls while dodging
landmines, all before Emperor Maximillian’s money runs out and they’re forced to go home.
