Fighting with Frame Weight Transfer and Better Biomechanics by Dutchess Helga Skjaldmaer
This class focuses on power generation though frame weight transfer, with a focus on biomechanics of the shoulder and arm. Originally this class was developed as a small frame class and will focus on some specific needs created due to height, weight, and strength differences in the SCA rattan sphere. However, individuals of all body sizes and shapes are encouraged to take the class. This course is a 101 course with a focus on the basics and skills needed to generate power with a stable shoulder, good elbow position, and frame weight transfer. Frame weight transfer is the delivery of force in which body mass and structure move into the shot, typically across the opponent’s center line. Frame weight transfer emphasizes connected and aligned body structures carrying force through the target. For class, please bring your sword and shield. This class does not require you being in armor.
